The Correspondents

For crowd atmosphere, energy and a burst of endorphins, The Correspondents won hands down” – The Telegraph review of Glastonbury 2010

The Correspondents are Mr Bruce & Chucks who together revamp vintage sounds for the modern ear. Resuscitating sampled relics with squelchy synths over dusty drum loops, they’ve depicted the trials & errors of Love, Lust & Loss over foot-tapping ‘get your brogues on’ dance floor Electro Swing.

Starting out in Nov’07, the friends returned to London after a firm schooling at their respective Universities. In Leeds, Chuck’s had been tinkering with Hip Hop, Jazz & Dance for several years, whilst further north in Edinburgh, Mr Bruce exerted his vocal dexterity over D’n’B, Breaks & Funk. The unlikely pair cut their teeth at a few parties & decided to cement the live performance relationship in their studio. Since then tracks have been recorded, stages have been stomped and knees have hit nipples.

The Correspondents have performed at the very best UK festivals & venues including Glastonbury, Bestival, Shambala, Lovebox, Camden Crawl, Kensington Palace, The Tower Of London, The Roundhouse, Proud Galleries,  Bungalow 8, Last Days Of Decadance, Notting Hill Arts Club and their home stomping ground, Bethnal Green Working Men’s Club

The Correspondents have a plethora of musical treats yet to be released. But please remain calm, as they’ll be reaching the masses with time to dust off your brogues, don your bowler hat and join The Correspondents on the dance floor.

Lou Lu and the Boy

Lou Lu and the Boy presented themselves to the world for the first time in March 2011. Since then they have rapidly risen in status around the British music scene and are now being sought after overseas being at the forefront of a German Television documentary set to be previewed around the film festival circuit next year. The band have a catalogue of songs most new bands would envy and quite the stage presence with two front woman and a drummer who sometimes decides he’d rather play standing up. Add to that ‘vocal harmonies to die for’ (Bido Lito,2011) Lou Lu and the Boy are a force to be reckoned with and definitely one’s to watch for 2012.

King Twit

“Their music is incredibly infectious and catchy; they managed to achieve a fair balance between their folk influences and pop hooks, they power through their set with no visible effort and the crowd only becomes more enthusiastic.” Liverpoolmusic.com

The Chicken Brothers

The Chicken Brothers (TCB) is the new moniker for Burnitov and Dogspocket - resident rhythm raconteurs at the Speakeasy events in Liverpool – but don’t let us tell you, here’s Nick Hollywood on the Freshly Squeezed radio show.
